The South Bougainville Cultural Show will be on this year from the 13th to 15th August 2021 at the Panakei Mini Town Showground. This cultural show will feature traditional singing and dancing groups with performances of sacred cultural rituals. There will also be displays of arts and handicrafts, traditional artefacts and war relics. Also on exhibition will be a traditional ‘haus garamut’ with garamuts (wooden slit drums). Peace and Unity Festival hosted by the Bougainville Heritage Foundation. Promoting Peace and Unity through Arts, Culture and Music. See live cultural singing and dancing with traditional attire, music and rituals, and exhibitions of carvings and weaving.

The Bougainville Chocolate Festival will be on again with various competitions and displays including the Chocolate Competition and Display, Cocoa Sack Race and Cultural Groups Performances.

This festival is a revival of the great traditional Mona (canoe) festival to celebrate the seafaring tradition of Bougainvilleans  and also  showcase rich cultural performances and traditional arts and crafts displays. 

Celebration of Bougainville’s unique cultural singing and dancing, arts and crafts displays including bamboo bands, string bands, traditional dances, singing and dancing with bamboo flutes and pipes and more.

The Nunu Chocolate Black Opal won the 2017 Gold Medal at the Academy of Chocolate Awards in London while the Nunu Chocolate Twilight won the 2017 Gold Medal at the Australian Foods Awards.

This event brings together cocoa farmers, chocolatiers, industry representatives and government officials to network and discuss market access and share improved farming and processing techniques.
